Chef Sam Buchanan
Sam Buchanan was born in Huntsville, Alabama, and has been in the Culinary Industry for 22 years. He graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After completing culinary school, Sam took a position at the French Laundry where he “really fine-tuned [his] technique and learned respect for the wonderful products [they] worked with each day.” Returning to his southern roots, Sam moved to Birmingham, AL, after the French Laundry. For the next seven years Sam would continue honing his skills at restaurants like The Hot and Hot Fish Club and The James Beard House. In 2012, Sam Buchanan moved to Hendersonville, TN, and began working at the Executive Chef at Bluegrass Yacht and County Club. Here Sam’s passion for Farm to Table style cuisine quickly grew as he was able to use an on property garden for the restaurant. After Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club, Sam began working on his expertise at Watermark Restaurant in the “Gulch” in Downtown Nashville, serving farm to table style southern cuisine at a high level. Sam Buchanan and his mastery of the culinary arts are part of Circa’s exquisite team, leading our culinary team as Executive Chef. He has brought his passion and finesse with him, which can be seen in every dish. Don’t forget about his beautiful garden next to the restaurant!
Bar Manager, Camille Taylor
Camille Taylor, born in Athens, Georgia, began her career in the restaurant service industry in 1978 at the age of 16. Moving to Nashville in 1989, Camille has found herself in some of the best bars in Tennessee. Camille learned the “Old School” ways of the bar business, and you can bet that she makes one great cocktail! She has had the pleasure of traveling extensively in the United States and Europe, increasing her knowledge and love of wines. You can find Camille at Circa most afternoons cutting fruit, making syrups, mixes and shrubs, pouring beautiful wines and shaking up tasty cocktails for our guests! In addition to bartending and beverage management, Camille is a certified Instructor for ServSafe Food and Alcohol Safety, and a member of the Tennessee Hospitality Association and the Music City Concierge Association.
